Mining Conference Season in Vancouver

January 20, 2016

It’s January, and that means it’s mining conference time in Vancouver. There are three coming up that I will be attending from this Saturday through Thursday.

The first one is the Metals Investor Forum at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver, on Saturday, Jan. 25/2016. Keynote speakers include Brent Cook, Eric Coffin, Gwen Preston and Brien Lundin. These well-known speakers have many years of experience as commentators in the resource space. They are a very strong group of analysts of the sector and they have put together a solid roster of companies, including a couple on my pick list as well, that are really worth hearing their stories and doing your homework on. There are still some free tickets available, visit here to register.

On Sunday, I will be spending a few hours at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC). At the Metals Investor Forum you see fewer companies, but, it is a curated list as the companies are invited by the keynote speakers picks. At VRIC, they let anybody that can pay the fee get a booth, so it will have a wide range of quality. When I go to this kind of show, I’m exploring to try to discover the handful of companies that could end up as one of my picks. Tickets are free for that show as well, visit their website.

From Monday-Thursday, I will be spending a bunch of time at the AME BC Roundup 2016. This one you have to pay to attend, but, I really like going to this show because at heart I’m an explorer. At this show, there are several companies with their drill core and maps to go over their projects. I feel like a treasure hunter at this show, plus they have some talks concerning First Nations issues that I will be eager to attend.

I’m planning some interviews from these shows.

I hope to see some of you at these shows and look forward to chatting. As anybody who meets me knows, I love to talk stocks and rocks.

All the best,

Allan Barry Laboucan
